To all teams due to take part in the 2011 Sledge Pull
First we would like to offer our sincere apologies for the postponement.
We trust that you understand our reasons. We are determined for the sledge pull to be very successful, and believe we can do this much better by postponing our plans. We have been working with the best interests of your students and other young people in mind.
We know that you have worked hard to prepare, and that more work is created by the changes. However, we have worked hard to reformat the sledge pull into a package that will capitalise on all the enthusiasm that you have developed to date.
The sledge pull should be easy to take on and deliver, and that can engage and inspire your students. We hope that it can be a student led project, and that you will start it very soon.
Our main aim is to create adventure and exploration activities for young people. These can be of any type that is of educational or personal development value. If these occur or are made more accessible as a result of the sledge pull activities then we will have achieved our principal objective.
It is our sincere hope that you will all remain committed and positive about completing a sledge pull activity during the year ahead, and that you will be able to derive significant educational and financial benefit from them. Above all it is your enthusiasm and energy that will make it so, so I urge you to keep the opportunities alive and to make something of this unique opportunity.
We will do all that we can to help you achieve this.

Sledges
If you currently have a sledge in your school we hope that you will make use of it now, in PE classes, sports sessions or even after school. This can be your teamwork challenge. As soon as you have done so, we will arrange for it to be moved to another school.
If you are not intending to participate in a teamwork challenge but are currently in possession of a sledge, please can you hold on to it until we have organised its next location.
