What is required of you ?
We would like you to pick up the baton, for a small distance – even as little as 5 miles – in your local area. You will need to form a team of up to five sledge pullers from your organisation to do one or more legs of the route, ideally of five miles. This involves pulling a wheeled sledge at jogging pace, which is not difficult to do. Perhaps totalling 11 miles or more, in September 2012.
Relatively little is required of you. You will need to be signed up by March 29th, 2012 for the nationwide relay in September, 2012. You will need to run a few training sessions to verify fitness. We will endeavour to provide you with a sledge to practice with if you apply well before the deadline – but rest easy, a three year old can pull the sledge!
We will ask you to fundraise, using your network to capture small donations in person, online and by text message.
We will set you up with an online donation page and a donate by text code, so that all you have to do is tweak one of our template poster / flyer emails and spread the word to your potential donors.
The power of Scott's story, the youth development agenda and the cause of your nominated charity should do the rest.
