Fundraising with the teamwork challenge
We have deliberately created the sledge pull to use the unique moment of the Scott Centenary to create benefit for young people; specifically to raise funds for adventure and exploration activities and to create these opportunities in areas where they do not so readily exist. Fundraising for the Teamwork Challenge is optional. Our fundraising aims
The principal aims of the Teamwork Challenge are to: 1. Raise funds for adventure and exploration activities within your school or group. 2. Raise funds for charities that you nominate. 3. Raise funds to support the museum and educational outreach work of the Scott Polar Research Institute. We suggest that the funds you raise are divided as follows
How do we raise funds ? By collecting cash, cheques, by online donations and using our donate by text service. Participants can use sponsorship forms, posters and letters, emails, e-flyers and word of mouth to promote their fundraising. Schools can do non uniform days, bag packing at Sainsbury's, letters to local companies and other organisations, such as chambers of commerce, and a great many more similar initiatives. You are only limited by your imagination. How much to raise ?
We recommend that each participant be tasked to raise a small amount, and suggest that fundraising be tackled as a team task. We suggest £100 for the team as a teamwork project target to represent the Scott Centenary. It could also be £111 per team, so including the the last eleven miles. It could even be as little as simple as a £1 per person entry donation. How do you gather and receive the funds raised ? We will set up online fundraising with bmycharity and also a donate by text service for you. You can also collect cash or cheques. You will be required to keep accurate records of these, and where relevant to gather the information that enables gift aid to be reclaimed. Funds raised will need to be paid to the Scott Centenary Sledge Pull donations account. This is a restricted access account which is controlled by signatories from the Scott Polar Research Institute and the organisers of the Sledge Pull. Gift aid will be reclaimed as appropriate and then the funds will be distributed to you and the other charitable causes. |

Fundraising Terms and Conditions
The sledge pull is designed to be a fundraising event. Fundraising is optional but desired.
You can handle your fundraising independently and / or by using the online donations account and donate by text facilities that we have set up for the sledge pull.
The organisers reserve the right to make a charge of 10% of funds raised up to a maximum of £100 per organisation, team or participant in order to meet the costs of administering the fundraising, distributing funds and claiming gift aid etc.
