Here you will find the stories of some of the participant teams. You can also donate to their fundraising appeals here, helping to create adventure opportunities for young people and supporting a whole range of Charities they have chosen.

The University of St Andrews Expeditions Society completed a traverse of the Lairig Ghru Pass in the Cairngorms. Planned as a sledging expedition in honour of Scott, sadly snow conditions were not enough to support this.
Captain Scott's words were used as inspiration for the group in 2012, just as they were in 1922 when Scott's friend JM Barrie addressed the University about 'courage', using a letter written by Scott in his final days. To read the full story click HERE |

16 Public Service Course students from Petroc in Tiverton completed their 11 miles in 1hour 28 minutes, completing 1.5 miles legs in pairs along the Army Fitness Test route.
A hail and rainstorm day just before Christmas ! The Sledge Pull Project has been used by Petroc to provide practical experience and skills of teamwork as part of the Leadership Unit of the Public Service Course. |

A unique challenge between two teams 'Port' and 'Starboard', each completing 11 miles in 200m legs. A very fast time of 1h20 mins and nearly £1000 raised.

We were one of very few schools which supported both Scott’s 1911 and Shackleton’s 1914 Antarctic Expeditions. A number of leading Public Schools were approached at the time for sponsorship and the pupils of Bristol Grammar School provided funds for a dog on each expedition.

The Inspire Youth Development Sledge Pull Team
1st November 2011 - 100 years to the day that Scott, Wilson, Oates, Evans and Bowers set out for the pole.14 miles of the Bridgwater Canal (with a small passenger).
We aim to complete 100 miles of sledge pull between now and March 31st 2012, and it is our aim to create an expedition scholarship fund of at least £1,766 for the benefit of at least one young person from Taunton, Somerset, where we are based. |

Donations made in support of a team's fundraising will be divided between the Charities or activities in the proportions decided by the participating team. Please note that up to 10% of the donation made may be used to help meet the administrative costs of processing the donations, up to a maximum of £100 for each participating team or organisation.
